An active community volunteer since her move to the area in 1996, Lisa Wolff joined the Board of Education in 2009 as one of Hopewell Township's seven representatives on the regional body. She is a member of the Alternate Resources and Negotiations committees. She is the Board co-liaison, with board member Daniel O'Connor, to the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley. Along with board member Leigh Ann Peterson, Ms. Wolff is co-liaison to the Hopewell Valley Education Foundation. She also serves as one of two Board delegates to the New Jersey School Boards Association.

Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Ms. Wolff has worked in the software and technology industry for 25 years. She began as an engineer and moved through sales and marketing into executive management. For the last 11 years she has worked as an independent consultant. Prior to that, she ran sales for the Northeast U.S. Region and headed Canadian operations for the British software and IT company Micro Focus, a firm she joined as a sales representative in the Philadelphia suburbs. She also was part of a team to launch Mercantec, Inc., a company that provides e-commerce solutions. Her sales career began in Texas at Computer Associates. She was also a member of the adjunct faculty at The College of New Jersey, teaching sales management and marketing classes.

She moved to Hopewell Township in 1996 from Somerset. She has long supported local non-profit institutions, including the D&R Greenway, the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association and various Hopewell Valley recreational organizations. The mother of two sons, she has served as a team manager in the Hopewell Valley Soccer Association. Since 2003 she has been an active volunteer with the Communities of Light project operated by Womanspace and has served as its sales and marketing director. She was the campaign’s 2009 municipal coordinator.

Ms. Wolff holds a bachelor’s degree in math and computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s executive program at the Wharton School of Business.

Ms. Wolff’s interest in public education comes naturally. She has two sisters, both of whom are teachers. Sandy teaches preschoolers in Illinois; Shar, who has taught students from kindergarten through college during her 30-year career, now heads the photography department at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Va.

A gourmet cook, Ms. Wolff took coursework at the Restaurant School of Philadelphia and specializes in ethnic cuisine. 

Ms. Wolff and her husband, Paul Kinney, have two sons, Zachary and Ryan, who attend district schools.
