Fourth Grade Ocean Habitat Tanks

By Eliza Rosenthale and Aneta Sieminski

Every year Mrs. Dudich's 4th grade class of Stony Brook Elementary School, decorates bulletin boards as ocean tanks. Each bulletin board is designed as a certain habitat found in the ocean. Every student was assigned an animal to research and make a model out of, which they then attached to the bulletin board of the correct habitat. Then they had to do a presentation for the whole school about their animal. Each board had a different style which making it unique and informative. We think Stony Brook learned a lot from these fourth graders about ocean habitats.

Hi Rocky,
I've been getting some good grades and my teacher is very proud of me.   But lately, I've gotten  some bad grades in one class.   What should I do?   Every practice sheet I get,  I put it right in my folder.  But it always gets lost.   I try and try, but I lose the practice sheet.  I don't understand what we need to learn, and I just don't know what to do!
Thanks,
Lost in 5th Grade

Dear Lost,
Congrats on your good grades!  If you are constantly losing your  worksheets, then carry it home in your hands.  Once you've gotten home put it on your bedside table or somewhere that you see every time you wake up to go to school.  Make sure to tell your parents, so they do not accidentally throw it away.  In the morning, you can study the worksheet for a couple minutes.  It may not seem like a lot, but it does make a difference.  Also, you may want to have a separate folder just for that class.
