Michael B. Daher has been the principal of Central High School since 2006. He came to Hopewell Valley from Upper Moreland High School, in the Philadelphia suburbs, where he had earned strong credentials in lifting student test scores and a reputation for being a highly visible leader.
A former middle school and high school math teacher in Chatham, Daher spent 15 years in assistant principal posts in two other districts in Montgomery County, PA before taking the helm at Upper Moreland in 1999.
He coached state championship teams in baseball and football at Chatham in the late 1970s and early 1980s before taking a position as assistant principal of Perkiomen Valley High School in Perkiomen, Montgomery County, in 1986.
In 1988 he was appointed vice principal at Wissahickon High School in Ambler, where he also served as athletic director. He was named assistant principal for Upper Moreland in 1995.
A graduate of Kutztown University, Daher holds a master’s degree in education from Kean College of New Jersey.
He lives in Lower Gwynedd Township with his wife, Robin, a 4th grade teacher in the Wissahickon School District. The couple has two grown sons.
