Hopewell Valley Schools
Hopewell Valley Regional School District serves the two boroughs of Pennington and Hopewell and the much larger Hopewell Township, a sending area of nearly 60 square miles with a population exceeding 20,000. Six schools comprise the district -- four K-5 elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Enrollment for the 2012-2013 year was approximately 3,720.

The elementary schools are traditional neighborhood schools in their orientation. Bear Tavern Elementary, named for the historic Revolutionary War-era inn located just a scant third mile away, serves youngsters in the Titusville section and western reaches of Hopewell Township. In the township's southern tier, where the sprawling Brandon Farms housing development is situated, children attend Stony Brook Elementary, the district's newest school, opened in 2002. Youngsters living in and around the historic boroughs of Hopewell and Penningon are served by Hopewell Elementary and Toll Gate Grammar School, respectively. Dating to the 1920s, the schoolhouses are attractive historic landmarks in the well-preserved architectural fabric of their communities.

Hopewell Valley students in grades 6 through 8 are educated at Timberlane Middle School. The school, centrally located on Timberlane Drive near Route 31, shares a campus with Central High School, which students attend for grades 9 through 12.

The district's tuition-based preschool programs are housed at Bear Tavern Elementary and Hopewell Elementary.
