The New Jersey Schools Development Authority has announced that Hopewell Valley Regional School District will receive slightly more than $200,000 in state grants. The money is to be used for renovations planned for five of the district's schools.
Of the estimated total renovation cost of $533,888, the school district will contribute $320,333 towards the improvements.
Among the planned renovations:
- Hopewell Elementary will receive new gymnasium light fixtures, new mulch, pads and equipment;
- Toll Gate Grammar will install six heat recovery units and replace its water meter;
- Central High will receive new light fixtures in its weight room, auto school, and gymnasium, as well as a new security management system and a new water meter;
- Bear Tavern Elementary and Timberlane Middle School will receive new gymnasium lights.
The grant announced last week is one of 255 awarded through the Schools Development Authority's Regular Operating Districts program since May, officials said.
