Dear Students and Parents/Guardians of 9th, 10th, and 12th graders:

This is a reminder that on March 5, 6 and 7, students in eleventh grade throughout the state of New Jersey will take the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA). This test is designed to measure proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. The administration of these tests is mandated by state law. Students must demonstrate proficiency in each subject area in order to graduate.

The regular school schedule will be adjusted on each of the testing dates as follows:

March 5, 6, 7 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday):

  • All students in grade eleven are to report to school by 7:45 a.m. Testing will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end by 10:30 a.m. each day.

  • Students in grades nine, ten, and twelve are to report to school by 10:15 a.m. In the event of a delayed opening or school closing due to inclement weather, an adjusted testing schedule will be sent via the Alert Now system.
Buses for eleventh graders will run during the regular times with students arriving by 7:45 a.m. The adjusted pick-up times for grades nine, ten, and twelve will be posted on each bus during the week prior to testing. The pick-up times should be two and one half hours after the regular pick-up times.
