Textile Drive to Benefit Schools
Did you know that about six percent of the waste in landfills comes from various textiles? Hopewell Valley residents can help keep these items out of landfills while helping our schools. The Alternative Resource Advisory Committee of the Board of Education has worked with local Parent Teacher Organizations to organize a textile drive.
This year, the program is being expanded by giving our community the opportunity to support the effort by bringing textiles to school lobbies and the following locations on Election Day, November 8: Central High School, District Administration Building, Hopewell Elementary, Stony Brook Elementary, Hopewell Township Municipal Building, Hopewell Borough Train Station.
Compensation paid per pound of donation helps support PTO programs. Our drive accepts all used clean clothing, including shoes and hats in any condition. Also accepted will be household items such as curtains, linens, towels, handbags and belts. Clean out those attics and help your school!
