Kindergarten Registration Opens January 9

Kindergarten registration for the 2012-2013 school year will run January 9 - March 30 for children entering kindergarten in Hopewell Valley Regional School District in September 2012. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years old on or before October 1, 2012 (Board Policy 5512 Entrance Age).

Registration forms will be available online after December 15 through the HVRSD website (www.hvrsd.org; select the Offices / Registrar link and choose PreK – 5 Registration Form from the forms listed on the registrar's page). Print and follow the directions for completing the forms. If  Internet access is not available, the Curriculum & Instruction office will supply the necessary forms.

After completing the forms, schedule an appointment with the district registrar by calling 609.737.4000 x2306. Bring these forms as well as an original birth certificate with a raised seal (or a copy with a raised seal) and proof of residency to the appointment. Acceptable proof of residency includes a deed, a lease showing signatures of both parties (dated for current school year), a signed sales contract with street address or settlement statement. The district will also accept a current tax bill with a valid NJ driver’s license. Both the tax bill and license must have matching addresses. Upon completion of the registration process, parents / guardians will receive an information packet and will schedule a school visit.

School visits will be held at the four elementary schools: Bear Tavern Elementary (April 23-25), Toll Gate Grammar School (April 11–13), Hopewell Elementary School (April 16-20), Stony Brook (March 26-29). Appointments must be made for the school visits when registering and will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
