$50,000 Raised for Turf’s Up! at Rec Foundation's Fall Ball
Hopewell Valley fans gathered at Jericho National Golf Club on Saturday, November 19 for the Recreation Foundation of Hopewell Valley’s annual Fall Ball.
With 230 supporters in attendance, more than $50,000 was raised during the evening. The money is earmarked for the turf field at Hopewell Valley Central High School, bringing total commitments to the $1 million project to almost $700,000.
Attendees, decked out in black and gold attire, enjoyed appetizers and refreshments while listening to music provided by Pennington’s Craig Lieboff and Clearin’ Out the Cobwebs. The evening featured both silent and live auctions. Auction items including Philadelphia Eagles tickets and a beach weekend getaway, coupled with the skill of auctioneer Matt Schrader in raising $40,000 in a direct appeal for donations, added to the evening's fundraising success.
The donors and supporters of the Fall Ball will be commemorated with a medallion placed at the HVCHS turf field. The medallion, which will be a permanent part of the turf field, will read Turf’s Up! Fall Ball 2011.
The success of Fall Ball 2011 was made possible by the efforts of Cynthia Wiley and her team, Kim Bruno, Judy Manley, Pat Ryan and the Hopewell Valley Community Bank.

The HVCHS boys' soccer team donated $500 at its end-of-season banquet to the Turf's Up! fund. Its donation was matched by a $500 donation from the HVCHS girls' soccer team.
